“The little fashion line that could”….
Tabitha St. Bernard, the writer of our weekly Friday’s Eco Fashion Pick feature, has launched her first collection TABii JUST, consisting of bold, beautiful, and most importantly sustainable clothing. Tabitha draws from her rich Trinidadian heritage to blend an easy-going Trinidadian vibe with Brooklyn edginess. But of course, Tabitha juSt is about more than beautiful clothing. The collection is about responsible and beautiful clothing. Tabitha creates her own patterns in a way that uses the least amount of fabric, and excess scrap pieces are used to make shopping and makeup bags, eliminating fabric from being sent to landfills. The clothing is made in NYC’s garment district.
It’s not only sensible fashionistas who are taking notice of Tabitha juSt, the line has caught the attention of Princeton University’s Sustainable Fashion Week and will be participating in this years April 2013 event. The NYC Fashion Center has listed Tabitha juSt as one of their emerging designers.
