The Oscars are five months away, but dress decisions have undoubtedly already begun. And with that the annual Red Carpet Green Dress Challenge for creating an Oscar-worthy gown from sustainable materials has opened. The contest now in its fourth year was started by Suzy Amis Cameron, environmental advocate and wife of director James Cameron. The winning design will be worn by a surprise Hollywood actress on the red carpet at the 85th Annual Academy Awards to be held February 24, 2013.

The 2012 contest winner was Valentina Delfino, who designed an airy teal gown worn by “The Artist” actress Missi Pyle.
