H&M’s anticipated “Conscious Collection” hits select stores today. H&M is changing its tune, looking to become the place for ethical fast fashion…which is somewhat of an oxymoron. Still H&M has become the number one user of organic cotton worldwide, with a goal of using only sustainably sourced cotton by 2020. The collection is mostly made from organic cotton, recycled polyester and tencel, although some conventional polyester is used. I’m intrigued. I stopped shopping at H&M a few years ago, but this collection I will check out.
Today H&M is also releasing its 2011 Conscious Actions Sustainability Report, which can be accessed here.
