Joyous East African women. These artisan women are part of the WomenCraft Social Enterprise which works with women in the hills of Mafiga Matatu, the tri-border region between Rwanda, Tanzania, and Burundi. The women artisans weave locally harvested grasses, raffia and banana fiber with Tanzanian fabrics to create beautiful bowls. WomenCraft works to preserve local traditions and pays its members fair wages.
The image above is so beautiful . Not only are the colors and prints inspiring, but the happy expressions on the women is the icing on this hot pink cake.
