STAY by MAR Clothing Empowering Women Entrepreneurs in Kenya

Stay By Mar Clothing
Stay by Mar is fashion that gives back. For Spring 2012 the brand has joined forces with Care For Kenya, a   NY-based non-profit organization that focuses on underprivileged women and children in Kenya using micro-financing initiatives to bolster their livelihood.

With the help of Care for Kenya, STAY has collaborated with the Women’s Center of Kibera, a women’s empowerment program based in the largest slum of East Africa, to produce their Spring 2012 capsule collection—an assortment of contemporary womenswear pieces.  The Kenyan-based production of the garments is aimed to help generate income for this group of aspiring female entrepreneurs, most of whom are deeply affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic and have limited work capabilities.  In an effort to further stimulate economic growth, the collection will incorporate unique Kenyan textiles sourced from local markets.

The Stay by Mar (for Care for Kenya) Collection is being introduced today at Nolcha Fashion Week. Pictures of the collection to come!
